The Elysee Palace in the sights of justice.
An investigating judge was appointed Tuesday to investigate the case of polls of the Elysee. And that, after filing a complaint with a civil party for “favoritism.” The Presidency of the Republic is undermined for failing to comply, in 2007, the rules for competition by signing a contract without competitive bidding.
A discovery of the Court of Auditors
The case was revealed in the summer of 2009 by the Court of Auditors. She had criticized an agreement signed between the Elysée and society Publifact, former journalist and former adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy, Patrick Buisson. All for $ 1.5 million.
In its audit report and management services to the Elysée in 2008, the Court singled out a series of fifteen opinion polls published in the press while they were also charged at the Elysee by the firm Consulting Patrick Buisson.
Second complaint Anticor
The first complaint was lodged by the Anti Anticor, whose president is former Judge Eric Halphen. She had been dismissed by the Paris prosecutor, who felt that there was no need to hear this case

Nicolas Sarkozy's media image costs the Elysée €7.5m
Nicolas Sarkozy's love of the media spotlight has resulted in the Elysée's communications department to spending a hefty €7.5m (£6.7m) this year
How has cost the Elysee Palace in 2009?
On May 14, 2008, Nicolas Sarkozy wanted to audit the accounts and management of the Elysee by the Court of Auditors, high authority to control state spending.
The balance of the year 2009 has just been released: mainly positive in some respects, but there are still relatively high expenditure.
But do not believe that the charges stop a few thousand euros ... Instead, look for yourself.
Tax: € 118 943
This may seem surprising, yet the Elysee pay taxes and fees.
Among other things, being the owner of premises and residences.
A price that may seem complex, but that represents only 0.1% of the annual budget of the presidential palace.
Flowers: € 297 252
And yes, unlocks the Elysee budget incredible flowers. For reception of course. This is not even thinkable that our president has all the flower has the first lady. It may be gallant but still. At that price as the particular flower becoming Élysée.
Interview: € 1,656,650
For the Elysee remains in good condition, it must maintain and renovate it. And the presidential palace is high: more than 11,000 sqm, spread over 365 pieces.
But that's not all: the Elysee also has a large garden of 1, 5 ha.
Vehicle rental: € 1,753,582
Whether to travel the president, his advisers, his bodyguards and others, the Elysee uses rental vehicles with drivers.
Estimates are considered too excessive by the Court of Auditors, which invites the Elysee to use the taxi companies, cheaper.
Indeed, according to the Court of Auditors, the President of the Republic was too prone to abuse cars with drivers. Especially in the movement of precursors, namely the teams prepare lectures and other movements of the president. The amount is still to € 1,753,582. No wonder this is considered too excessive.
Restoration: € 8,300,000
The Elysee likes to eat.
Restore administrative costs approximately 1.6 million euros
This was the catering for the palace staff, consisting of a self and a "restaurant with servers" respectively, each having distributed 87,859 meals in 2009 and 8155.
8 servers, 11 chefs and two pastry chefs are employed. The Court of Auditors reported that meals will cost on average twice as expensive for the state in relation to other administrative canteens.
Restoring the palace costs around 6.7 million euros.
Cocktails, private service of the President, formal dinners, business lunches ... at a cost of food more than 4 million. These services and receptions have required in 2009, the presence of more than 60 people: cooks, waiters, seamstresses, bankers, florists, administrative officers, ushers, security personnel ...
The Court of Audit asked the Elysee to work hard for all these expenses, given the resources committed considered too great.
More
Travel € 1,059,465 in 2009.
employees € 67,000,000
garden party (see article)
Is that adding up to approximately € 81,185,892.
